# Use SkyStatus with ChatGPT and Claude Ask about your Flying Blue status, understand your booked flights and compare a different trip. Your assistant can use SkyStatus calculations and, with your permission, the account data you already keep here. These tools do not need access to a SkyStatus account. You still need to enable the connection in a supported assistant. ## Your account, in a conversation Connect your existing SkyStatus account to discuss your status, miles, booked flights and Coach plan. You approve read access yourself. You do not need a second account or to retype your flights. ## Connect your assistant SkyStatus uses MCP, a standard for connecting AI assistants to tools and data. Choose your assistant below. Custom connections must be available in your subscription and workspace. This is a direct connection, not a listing in a provider directory. Account conversations checked on 2026-09-13. Menu labels and availability vary by account and workspace. Screenshots show the English web interfaces, captured on 2026-09-13. ### Claude web 1. **Add a custom connector** Open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Name it SkyStatus, paste the server address below and select Continue. If Claude says this URL already exists, open your existing SkyStatus connector instead. Paste the public client ID below and leave the client secret empty. Check the callback if Claude displays it, then select Add. Menu labels may differ by workspace or client version. OAuth client ID: `skystatus-claude-pilot-20260911`. Leave the client secret blank. This public client ID is safe to copy. Expected callback: `https://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback` 3. **Connect your SkyStatus account** Open the new SkyStatus connector and select Connect. Sign in to your existing SkyStatus account and review the named read-only consent. Approve it to enable personal questions. The tested Claude setup asks for consent at this point, even though SkyStatus also has public tools. 4. **Enable SkyStatus in a conversation** Start a new conversation. Open + → Connectors and enable SkyStatus, then try the connection check below. If the tool list is old, reopen the connector and start another conversation. ### ChatGPT 1. **Enable Developer mode** In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login. Scroll to Developer mode and turn it on. This makes custom MCP connections available. Name the app SkyStatus, keep Server URL selected and paste the server address below. Under Authentication, choose Mixed for public questions before personal consent. OAuth also works if you want to connect your account during installation. Keep Registration method set to User-Defined OAuth Client and paste the client ID below. Leave OAuth Client Secret empty and Token endpoint auth method set to none. Keep the discovered read:member default scope and leave Base scopes empty. Check the callback against the exact address below. Leave the discovered OAuth endpoints unchanged. DCR and CIMD are not needed for this setup. OAuth client ID: `skystatus-chatgpt-pilot-20260912`. Leave the client secret blank. This public client ID is safe to copy. To continue, tick I understand and want to continue, then select Create. With Mixed, choose Use without account for public questions. For a personal question, choose Update access, sign in to your existing SkyStatus account and review the named read-only consent. With OAuth, this sign-in can happen during installation. 5. **Select SkyStatus in a new conversation** Select the SkyStatus app from the conversation composer. For public use without an account, try the public question below. If you connected your account, try the access check. Keep using that same app for public and personal questions. This public client ID is safe to copy. Enable SkyStatus in the conversation. Ask a public question or approve the named SkyStatus read-only consent for a personal question. A workspace administrator may need to allow custom connections first. ## Check the connection Can you check whether you currently have access to my SkyStatus account, without showing my balances or flights? This checks access now. It does not mean your source data is up to date. In ChatGPT, refresh the connection in Plugins after a tool update and start a new conversation. In Claude, reopen the connector and start a new conversation if its tool list is old. ### First public question Find the Dutch SkyStatus guide about Flying Blue qualification periods. ### After connecting What is my actual status, what is still unconfirmed, and what do my booked flights change? ## Start with a useful question - Which booked flights determine my forecast? - What changes if I replace this booked segment, including XP and UXP? - Compare options under my budget without changing my saved preferences. ## What to expect - Answers use your stored SkyStatus records, including imports and manual entries. This is not a live connection to Flying Blue. A recent lookup or import can still contain an older statement. - Held status, earned points and a forecast are different. Booked flights can change a forecast without securing status retention. Ultimate also depends on its own UXP period. - Adding, replacing or removing a trip is a temporary calculation. It does not save or cancel flights. Recorded earnings stay intact. If the account or calculation context changes, fetch the flights again and replay the complete scenario. - No ticket booking, payments, live fares or live award availability. Costs can be estimates. Unknown prices mean the assistant cannot confirm a hard budget. - An AI assistant can misinterpret a correct result. Ask it to show the source, recorded versus projected amounts, missing inputs and assumptions. Check consequential decisions in SkyStatus and with the travel provider. ## You control account access A connected assistant can receive status, miles, flight details and the calculation settings or Coach context needed for your question. Passenger names, booking references, PDF files, raw transaction descriptions and free-form notes are excluded. It cannot change or delete your member data. Stop future access in Settings → Privacy → Connected assistants. Information already shared remains subject to the assistant provider’s policies. SkyStatus records bounded operational metadata such as tool names, outcomes and timing. MCP receipts do not store your prompts, tool arguments, answers, passwords or tokens. These receipts have 180-day retention. Help-page interactions use existing site analytics. Provider conversations and hosting logs follow their own policies. ## Questions and troubleshooting ### Do I need a SkyStatus account? Public calculations and guides do not require account access. Personal answers require a cloud account and your consent. Local-only and demo data cannot be read by the server. Import or enter your records in SkyStatus first. ### Does the connection cost extra? SkyStatus does not charge an additional connector fee. Your AI provider may require a particular subscription or workspace permission for custom connections. Check its current requirements before subscribing. ### Can the assistant change my account? No. It can read approved categories and calculate temporary scenarios. It cannot save flights, change preferences, mark Coach steps complete, import PDFs, book or pay. ### Why does a public question still show a sign-in screen? SkyStatus public tools do not require a member grant. The host may request sign-in during installation. ChatGPT Mixed mode was tested with public use before personal consent. That anonymous installation flow has not been established for Claude. ### Why are tools missing or answers old? Enable the right SkyStatus connection in your conversation. Refresh its tool list where the host offers that option and start a fresh conversation. For stale scenario references, fetch the current flights and repeat the full proposal. Do not reuse an earlier answer as proof of current access. ### What if I cannot connect? Check that custom connections are allowed. Use the endpoint and public client ID shown here with the exact callback. Leave the secret empty. A different callback or a ChatGPT workspace restricted to an email domain is not supported. Contact SkyStatus rather than inventing credentials. ### Why can the answer differ from Flying Blue? The server reads what is stored in SkyStatus, not the airline account. Check your import coverage, manual entries, time zone and whether the answer describes credited or projected earnings. Unknown source provenance must stay unknown. ### How do I stop access? Open Settings → Privacy → Connected assistants and choose Stop access. New personal reads are blocked. Reconnecting requires fresh consent. This does not erase information already present in an assistant conversation. ### What if account connections are paused? Use public information and your normal dashboard. Existing access can still be stopped in Settings. Do not keep signing in or create another account to bypass a paused connection. ## Claude Code Verified separately on 11 September 2026.
