Yes, Promo Rewards are actual discounts on flights you book with miles. It involves 25% to 50% fewer miles than normal for selected destinations. No marketing trick, but a real reduction in the number of required miles.

How does it work?

Every month Flying Blue publishes a new set of Promo Rewards. This is how it works:

• Publication: the first Wednesday of each month the new destinations are announced
• Booking period: you usually have about 6 weeks to book
• Travel period: the flights themselves are available for a period of several months
• Discount: 25% discount in Economy, sometimes 50% discount in Business Class

Examples of what you can expect

The destinations change every month, but to give an idea:

• Amsterdam - New York return in Economy: normally 34,000 miles, with Promo Reward 25,500 miles
• Amsterdam - Bangkok return in Business: normally 106,000 miles, with Promo Reward 53,000 miles
• Paris - Cape Town return in Economy: normally 42,000 miles, with Promo Reward 31,500 miles

Tips to make the most of Promo Rewards

1. Be quick: the best dates and flights sell out first, especially in Business Class. Book as soon as possible after publication.
2. Be flexible: the more flexible you are with dates, the better your chance of finding availability. Weekdays are easier than weekends.
3. Sign up for email notifications: Flying Blue sends a newsletter as soon as the new Promo Rewards go live.
4. Check SkyStatus: on SkyStatus we track the current Promo Rewards so you can quickly see which destinations are available.
5. Combine with other offers: sometimes Promo Rewards coincide with lower taxes and surcharges on certain routes.

Go to the Flying Blue website or app, navigate to "Spend" and then "Promo Rewards". There you will see all current offers with exact miles prices and available dates.
