How much XP do you need for Flying Blue Gold?
To reach Flying Blue Gold status you need 180 XP within your qualification period of 12 months. But note: this is not a calendar year. Your qualification period starts on the first day of the month after your last status change. Additionally, when reaching Silver, 100 XP is first subtracted, after which you need to earn 180 XP again for Gold.
How do you earn XP?
You earn XP by flying with KLM, Air France, Transavia and other SkyTeam partners. The number of XP per flight depends on:
- Distance - longer flights earn more XP
- Travel class - Business Class earns more XP than Economy
- Booking class - more expensive tickets give more XP
Additionally, you can earn XP with a Flying Blue Amex: the Gold Card gives 30 XP per year, the Platinum 60 XP per year.
What does Gold status give you?
- Access to 750+ SkyTeam lounges worldwide including one guest
- SkyPriority at check-in, boarding and baggage
- +1 extra checked bag (23 kg) on SkyTeam flights
- Priority boarding and check-in
- Extra miles bonus on flights
Use the SkyStatus Calculator to calculate exactly how many flights you still need for Gold.
