Overview is the start page: your status, your journeys and your next move at a glance. All insights has two lenses. Snapshot is the verified picture of what you have flown and booked, with no assumptions, for today or for a past month. Outlook adds your trajectory and what is coming. Both read the same forecast data and compute nothing of their own. The start page and the status the app leads with are set in Settings, Display.

1. Flying Blue PDF Import

The foundation of SkyStatus. Users download their activity statement from Flying Blue and import it into SkyStatus. The PDF is sent to Azure Document Intelligence (Microsoft's document parsing service, hosted in the EU region) which extracts the tables and text. Azure reads it, then SkyStatus imports it automatically, often within minutes, and you get an email when it is live. There is no copy-paste text import. The parser extracts:

Set a Status, Award flight or Miles goal and track it automatically. From Platinum you can also set a Choice Benefit goal. Each goal gets one verdict (Achieved, On track, Tight, or Short on current plan), this goal's own cost, and one concrete best next action with a real price. A status goal also shows a planning confidence figure. Status and Ultimate goals run through the same Status Coach engine, so a goal here and the same goal in the Coach reach the same projection. Flying Blue Choice Benefits

Flying Blue Choice Benefits are a three-tier milestone reward system for Platinum and Ultimate members. Platinum members track milestones via XP (including rollover). Ultimate members track via UXP. At each of three thresholds (450, 600, 750), the member selects one benefit. SkyStatus provides an independent decision-support layer for these rewards, with guides in English, Dutch, French and German.

Three milestone levels, one choice each

Selection is sequential (450 before 600 before 750). Rollover XP/UXP from the previous year counts toward thresholds. Members have a 6-month window after unlocking each level. Benefits are valid 12 months from selection, except miles and (U)XP which credit instantly. How XP is Earned

XP earning depends on three factors: flight distance band, cabin class, and (on AF/KL Economy) the fare family. XP is earned per flight segment (leg), not per booking.

Fare families (AF/KL Economy): Basic fares earn a flat 2 XP + 2 UXP per segment on any band (Basic earned zero XP between its September 2025 launch and February 2026, when earning was reinstated). Since the end of June 2026 Basic is sold on virtually all Air France and KLM European routes, French domestic included, and from 8 September 2026 also on connecting itineraries via Paris and Amsterdam and on selected medium-haul routes. Current Limitations

SkyStatus is transparent about what it does not do. No tool covers everything, and understanding limitations helps set the right expectations.

SkyStatus publishes a guide library about the Flying Blue loyalty program. Remco de Graaf holds editorial direction and final responsibility. He has been a Flying Blue member since 2005, holds Ultimate status and has completed 15+ mileage runs. AI is used for research and drafting. Program values that several guides share are kept in one place, so a change reaches every guide.
